Energosteel. Grinding Media Ball Manufacturer.

ENERGOSTEEL Company quality flexibility

Energosteel Company uses the “individual approach” principle in commercial and technical fields as main factor in building partnerships with customers. Energosteel Company takes into account the specifics of using grinding balls in the grinding process of each customer, regardless the consumption volume and activity type.

Let’s take a look at some examples, when Energosteel helps customers in resolving issues related to the grinding media selection and use.

One Ukrainian enterprise produces a technical steel shot. The final processing (crushing) carried out in ball mills. The customer uses 100mm grinding balls in production. The cast steel shot hardness is from 60HRC to 64HRC. The first shipped party of grinding media carried out according to the customer’s requirements for this product – a 100mm steel grinding balls with a surface hardness – 60HRC, the 0,5R hardness – 45HRC and produced by manganese steel grades. The client has noted after a certain period, the grinding media consumption and the grinding quality have not significantly increase and productivity decreased. Energosteel Company technical specialists arrived at client’s production plant, studied the steel shot production technology specifics, and analyzed other technical processes. Our specialists determined that mills have used as crushing equipment. The grinding process was replaced by crushing process – the grinding media low loading level and wide lifters (grinding balls lifted to the maximum height and fell down). Energosteel Company has offered grinding balls as effective as possible according to analysis results the customer’s production specifics. The second test batch has been produced by another steel grade with a surface hardness – 58HRС, the 0,5R hardness – 40HRC. Energosteel Company experts have monitored these grinding media work for several months. The grinding balls proved themselves from the best side. As a result, we established the long-term partnerships with this steel grinding balls consumer.

Another example an individual approach to each client by Energosteel Сompany. One our regular customer used 40 mm steel grinding balls with the third hardness group until 2017. The client has decided to use grinding balls the fourth hardness group to reduce the grinding media specific consumption. The first batch has been delivered on time, the grinding media technical parameters has corresponded to the customer’s requirement. However, our client had problems with the 40mm grinding balls the fourth hardness group (DSTU 3499-97), and the whole section hardness – 60-63HR after some time of use. Energosteel Company specialists have arrived at the consumer’ production. After the completion study all processes accompanying the grinding process (the crushed raw material properties, the inner drum parameters, the mill operation technological parameters, etc.) it has been determined several factors contributed to the situation: the grind material low hardness, mill overload by grinding media. Our specialists suggested first of all to reduce the grinding media loading rate (there was no possibility to increase the mill’s productivity) and use 40mm steel grinding balls with a lower section hardness – 58-56 HRC. The steel grade for the grinding balls production remained the same (high-carbon steel alloyed with manganese and chromium). Our specialists amended in the technological processes of self-release. Pilot batch has been rolled and delivered to the client.  The test lasted for more than one month. The mill visual inspection was conducted after the specified period. Our specialists noted the absence split and uneven wear and the mill operation technological parameters were normal – maximum productivity, grinding quality within the technological instruction requirements. Currently, this client continues to use our grinding media in own production.

These are just two examples of numerous cases where the Energosteel Company commercial and technical services well-coordinated work fully meets the customer’s requirements as a grinding media supplier.
