Mixed mode motion of grinding balls – is intermediate between the “cascade” and “waterfall” mode motions of grinding balls. It is observed at a rotational speed equal 60-75% by critical drum rotational speed. In this case, the grinding balls outer layers fall on the inner layers of material rolling down the slope to the bottom.
