Waterfall mode motion of grinding media – the mode motion of grinding balls carried out at a drum rotation frequency of 78-88% of the critical drum rotation speed. Waterfall mode motion provides the grinding balls transition from circular to parabolic trajectory. Material crushing occurs mainly due to the falling grinding balls impact and partially due to crushing and abrasion.
