Steel pearlite class

Steel pearlite class – steel containing a relatively small amount of alloying elements (no more than 5-6%). After cooling in air, the austenite in these steels decomposes at high temperatures with the formation of ferrite-cementite mixtures (perlite, sorbitol or trostite). Most structural and tool steels belong to this class.
